If I were to summon up a deity to represent the natural world, I’d picture her as a fiery passionate yet controlled mix of incandescent creation and destruction. I also consider humans to be an extension of that creative force and I hope we’ll not destroy ourselves in our own passions, but learn the serenity and balance needed to exist long into the future.

This image is a deliberate exercise in repurposing older work and represents the combination of several other pieces including: Communion, A Lighter New and Circuitree among others. The face emerged as a focal point to draw it all together and give a Mother Earth persona to the piece. The image of the goddess is designed to represent the contrasts of creation and destruction, light and dark, natural and machine. I see her as both intimidating yet nurturing just like the natural forces themselves.
