Evolved from a series of mechanical inspired sketches, this piece began to grow into initially more plant like structures. However, when flipped over it immediately transformed them into mushroom like forms. I spent a good amount of time trying to decide how to complete the look of the top part of the dome shape and eventually settled onto a series of floating ovals that were partially inspired by a seeded plant shape I’d seen whilst out walking. I wanted to create a large scene and link in the idea of mushrooms as source of ascension spiritually. It’s a concept I may well revisit at a future point.
