This is a piece, or rather composition has been with me for a number of years. I initially painted this image with oil paint on canvas and it was my proudest piece for a good long while. After a few more years of painting exclusively digital work, I decided to translate this image to a digital canvas. I think the digital realm allowed me to do things with light that weren’t really possible with actual paint. It was my first digital painting produced on iPad rather than graphics tablet and photoshop on desktop. I think sometimes that first vision burns the brightest however and the real paint version, even less realistic as it was, still shines through more for me.
